Driving the music industry forward
Kenneth J. Montalvo
At age 9 I created KJK enterprise which was a lawn mowing company in Woodbridge Va. I with the assistance of my mother obtained contracts with 27 of my neighbours to mow their lawns every week for the entire summer of 92 and 93. I set the price of $7/per inside unit and $10/per end unit. I made a little over $20k per summer. Because of this experience I have fallen in love with making companies successful dispite adversity.I am Kenneth Montalvo president of KJK productions. I started KJK productions in 1998 when my best friends father was killed in the capitol. Special agent John Michael Gibson whom at the time was assigned to then majority whip Tom Delay when a gunman named Russell Weston went into the capitol and opened fire killing gaurd J.J Chestnut and speciality agent Gibson while wounding many others. At that time I decided I should do something for not only my best friend but also his family. I then wrote a poem entitled "A hero walks" a tribute to a fallen hero. This poem was published in multiple news papers across the country. My uncle read the poem and suggested putting music to it and I did. I learned to appreciate all facets of the recording process. From the contracts to the distribution of an album. I purchased rights to multiple song to include on the album such as Michael Jackson's "gone to soon" to Mariah Carey's "Hero". Along with a few original songs I wrote and other artist tracks. The proceeds from the album were donated to families of fallen officers along with the family of special agent Gibson. I continued to write poetry and songs through 99'. While working at a local novelty shop i decided that the concert industry was the most profitable part of the music industry and ventured out to create a show. This show was called KJK Paluzza a 10/hr. 14 band event featuring local punk alternative groups including well known band such as Gwar, Ourselves Alone and P.O.D. The show went well, over 7500 patrons attended.
